JOPA is a student association focussed on outdoor activities such as hiking and camping. JOPA is suitable for both beginners and experienced outdoor-lovers. We have a few loan items: tents, sleeping bags and camping stoves so you don’t need to have your own. JOPA is open to every student regardless of their background. Joining JOPA is free of charge and most of our events are free as well.
In addition to hikes, we make shorter and easier events like day-trips . It’s up to our members what kind of activities we do!
Despite our name Jyväskylän Opiskelevat Partiolaiset (The Student Scouts and Guides of Jyväskylä) refers to scouting, we aren’t an official local group in The Guides and Scouts of Finland but a hobby organisation for students in universities and universities of applied science. You don’t need to have experience in scouting to join us or to participate in our events.
What would you like to do? Share your ideas with us! Send an e-mail: jopa.jkl(at)gmail.com. We are open to new activities.
Welcome to JOPA!

JOPA’s autumn hike at Leivonmäki national park 30.9.-2.10.
Jopa’s autumn hike will take place at Leivonmäki national park! The hike is suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers. If you don’t own all the necessary hiking gear, Jopa has some hiking gear to lend to the fastest ones. We will go to Leivonmäki on Friday 30 September and come back to Jyväskylä on 2 Sunday October.
The trip costs 8 euro and in addition to that, participants buy their own food and other hiking equipment such as fuel used in camp stove.
The sign up is open at https://forms.gle/bkNx6Zm3T5rt1oVv5 and it will close on Tuesday 27 September. You will later get an info letter which gives you additional information and payment instructions.
